Nutcase Helmets was on display at the SF Bike Expo with its large green brain logo and slogan “I love my brain”.

Nutcase Helmets has three collections, consisting of Street, Water and Snow. Within the street category are four series: Classic, Colorama, Super Solid, and Little Nutty.

Nutcase classic series uses decals displaying popular designs such as stars and stripes to checkerboards. Colorama uses vibrant colors like lemon lime, sky blue and pumpkin head. Super solid color range is wide, but are on the flat side. Little Nutty is Nutcase’s kids edition helmets.

Prices vary from $40 to $50 depending on the style and series.

The 2011 Bianchi Puch Green bike made an appearance at the 2010 EICMA; the EICMA is an event held in Milan from November 2nd through the 7th.

The pedal assisted Bianchi Puch Green hybrid was located at “Green Planet”, a special area for hybrid and electric vehicles. What many were most impressed with was the Panasonic motor engine, which powered the Bianchi Puch, and its creative design.

In total, 968 visitors came by the booth and tested the Puch Green Bike. Distribution is said to be in the 5,000 range for the Italian market in the next six months….

USA Cycling is currently reviewing several updates for its rulebook to be implemented in 2011. Some of the proposed changes include bans on helmet cams, junior bike equipment and creation of a singlespeed cyclocross championship.

The USAC Board of Trustees will hold converge on November 6 and should finalize their decisions on the updates for the rulebook by November 8.

The rule bans accessories like cameras, visors and fairings to be found on helmets. However, it’s acceptable for the bike to have them. Technical director Shawn Farrell explains the reason for the proposed items. “It’s more from a risk management perspective and the recognition that it would have to affect the safety aspects of the helmet, just by definition. In a crash, if you do a header right on top of your helmet cam, you’re going to drive it right through your helmet into your head.”

Felt’s Slant is back for 2011, but for those who have not heard of the bike, Felt made the Slant a cross between a cruiser and commuter bike.

The 2011 Felt Slant is pretty much all black with a Cantilever Steel Frame, but has white and orange graphics on the head tube and chain guard. The graphic reads “Slant Felt Bicycles Southern California”. Thick tires and upright handlebars add for a comfortable and smooth ride.
