The latest addition to Shimano‘s mountain bike shoe line is the SH-M315. It uses a new synthetic leather called Rovenica for its upper and features Shimano’s Custom-Fit technology. For professional cycling and more, the SH-M315 provides a supple fit that is both stiff and comfortable.

Durable with anti-abrasion upper with a low-profile design, the SH-M315 also has a micro-adjust buckle, dual offset straps and anti-slip heel lining. The insoles and upper panels are heat moldable to match your foot’s fit.

The sole has a rigid carbon fiber shank to give it a tuned flex. Partnered with high memory on elasticity and optional toe spikes for increased traction, the Shimano SH-M315 weighs 686g a pair and can be matched with Shimano XTR PD-M980 or PD-M985.

The FL Carbon 29er fork from Syncros stands out with its 100% carbon construction and monocoque crown. Veering away from the idea of a shorter fork and more offset, the FL Carbon 29er has 38mm offset with a 485mm axle to crown measurement.

S. Coffey, marketing director for Syncros ellaborates on the fork’s design, “We have dabbled with various offsets, lengths and frames with mixed results. In our ride testing we found that a 480mm/38mm offset obviously works fine on ubiquitous “old school” geometry, and despite the math, still works really well on “new school” bikes.”

Additional details for the new carbon fork are full carbon dropouts and disc only brakes. It has 34mm blades and a maximum rotor size of 203mm.

The 2010 Gran Criterium from Masi gives a proper tribute to the 1978 model, which was used on the movie “Breaking Away”. The updated version sports a new aluminum frame and carbon rear triangle while it continues to perform smoothly with excellence.

The 1978 Gran Criterium had a Columbus steel frame. The 2011 model has a frame custom made form Masi 7005-T6 SLX with Vibration Damping System (VDS), carbon seat stays and chainstays. The Momentum is Ellsworth‘s first venture into slopestyle/4x/dual bikes. With 120mm rear travel and 100mm travel by Fox 831 front fork on this mountain bike, It uses ICT or Instant Center Tracking suspension and monocoque chainstays for added durability.

The Momentum comes with a pivot integrated seat tube, held by 12mm Sex Pins and a semi-integrated tapered headtube. Using tube-to-tube welding, its design is host to a short wheelbase, slack head angle and low bottom bracket.
