Shimano’s Alfine 11 rear hub debuts with Charge Bikes’ Mixer 11. The Alfine 11 hub has oil-bath internals for longer life and a modified range from eight-speed to eleven-speed. It also has Alfine Rapidfire SLS500 for shift levers. The Mixer 11 arrives as one of the more expensive city bikes with a retail price of £1,229.
The sleek commuter bike comes with Tange tubing that’s heat treated and has rack mounts. It’s available in three sizes (S, M, L). An asymmetric Tange cromoly fork and 6061 eccentric alloy bottom bracket is also present for proper chain tension.
For stopping power, the Mixer 11 uses Shimano BRM486 hydraulic brakes. Spec’d with Charge saddle, alloy bar and stem and FSA 1 1/8″ headset, the Mixer 11 comes off with a promise of a durable city bike with Wellgo pedals, Plunger MTB grips, Alex rims and Continental Sport Contact 32mm tires.
