Touted to be the most copied bike in triathlon/time trial history, the Cervelo P3 Ultegra features aerodynamic specs with a Shimano Ultegra chain, cassette, and front and rear derailleur. Taking the lead from Cervelo’s P2, the P3 Ultegra has the 3T Funda Pro aero fork with a curved seattube. The seattube now encompasses most of the rearwheel for better aerodynamics. The P3 also features a monostay design, allowing the seatstay to blend in with the main tube.
The Vision stem, base bar, clip on and brake levers are made from sturdy, lightweight aluminum. It uses Dura Ace shifters with FSA Gossamer Pro for front and rear brake calipers. As for the crankset, the P3 plays host to FSA Gossamer MegaExo. The P3 is 150g lighter than the P2, too.
Internal CableStop or ICS is another feature on the P3, which simply means how internal cable routing can decrease air drag as speed increases. the patent pending Smartwall for Carbon is evident on the squoval tubeshape of the tubes. The 2011 Cervelo P3 Ultegra comes in two colors, black and white. Easton Vista rims, hubs and spokes with Shimano R500 wheels completes this triathlon favorite.
