Known for carbonized materials, Campagnolo now offers its 11-speed special edition electronic gear system. Just recently they’ve announced to the public that their specialized gear system will be specifically used only by the Spanish Movistar team in the 2011 Giro d’Italia tour.

Since Pinarello already replaced Cervelo as the official Giro d’Italia bike for the next 3 years, including the upcoming 2011 tour, the electronic groupset was seen during the presentation of the Giro d’Italia in a special black and pink finish.

When you browse the Campagnolo system it seems similar to the Shimano Di2 but this time with wires in replacement of the gear cables and a battery-powered gear placed on the down tube just behind the bottle case. Now that Campagnolo designed the special edition gear system, both levers and batteries can be seen labeled Campy Tech Lab—said to be derived from the company’s development division.

Schwalbe will be releasing its latest race tires, Ultremo ZX and ZLX, by the end of 2010. Marcus Hachmeyer, technician for Schwalbe, claims the ZX to be the best Ultremo yet. Weighing in at 195g, the Ultremo ZX features the RaceStar Triple Compound and HD Speed Guard technology from Schwalbe.

The RaceStar Triple Compound is an advanced arrangement of three unique compounds to produce flexible tire that has low rolling resistance and maximum grip. Hachmeyer explains, “The shoulder compound has great adhesion properties. It is very flexible, remaining in contact with the road surface while absorbing bumps and so does not lose traction under severe cornering.”

Cannondale welcomes us their 2011 versions of a cyclocross bike, the 2011 Cannondale CAADX.

The SRAM Rival and 105 both possess the same bike frame–a CAADX cyclocross, optimized 6061 alloy, BB30–while Tiagra has the same but lacks the third one. All three cyclocross bikes use the same fork, rims, hubs, spokes, tires, pedals, seat post, saddle and headset.

On the other side, the three differ in cranks, brakes, and brake levers. The CAADX 105 and Tiagra possesses the same stem, which is a Cannondale C4, 31.8mm whereas SRAM Rival makes use of a Cannondale C3, 31.8mm stem.

A bottom bracket out of FSA BB30 and a Control Tech Elite handlebar can be seen on both the SRAM Rival and 105 ‘cross bike, as the Tiagra makes use of a FSA mega Exo and Cannondale C4 compact respectively.
