After taking a look at Gaerne’s 2011 Triathlon and Road shoes, we have learned the new 2011 Gaerne G.Keira Plus, a mountain biking shoe, is available for pre-order.

The sole on the Gaerne 2011 G.Keira Plus is composed of carbon, which is light and stiff, plus the tread used battles against wear and abrasions. Adding two removable front studs improves traction, A.I.C.S also known as Adjustable Instep Adapts making sure constant support is present, and is made with high strength PU across the foot.

The 2011 X-Fusion Hilo is a telescoping post that uses hydraulic mechanism and oil flow to control the height of the seatpost. It also uses a single bolt head for adjustment on the fore/aft position and angle. It also has an air spring to extend the post and features a double key-way system.

The Hilo has a barrel adjuster at the post’s back that lets you manage the cable tension of the post. It has a total drop of 100mm/4″ and weighs 620 grams. It features a compact remote which comes in sizes of 30.9, 31.6 and 27.2.

The 2011 X-Fusion Hilo functions with a simple push of the activation lever. This will open a cable that serves as the oil passage. The oil is then free to cycle up or down inside the tube. Releasing the lever will close the cable, locking the position and stopping the oil flow.

In Eurobike 2010, Rotor unveils its recently updated cranks called the 3D+ cranks. The new and better version of the 3D now has a 30mm axle. This makes the 3D+ cranks compatible with other BB30, BBright spindle size from Cervelo and any BSA threaded frame.

The 2011 Rotor 3D+ is certified by the EN14781 standards. This make is of great quality. The compact BCD version weighs 470 grams while they carry a 493 grams. It also has special chainring spiders which would mean that the 2011 Rotor 3D+ cranks can be used for time trial and triathlon cycling.

The standard is now at 31.8mm stem and handlebar but Deda Elementi wanted to reach another demographic of cyclists who can handle a plus size bar. The 35mm new handlebar and stem guarantees durability and stability in its design.

The M35 handlebar has a 35mm diameter and weighs 210 grams. It is very stiff during sprints and is round across the full top portion. There’s no need for the top to be taped. It comes in 3 colors, carbon, red and white. The width sizes are 42-44-46cm.

Germany’s Last Bikes introduces the Herb AM, Herb FR and the Herb DH for 2011. The Herb AM has a standard travel of 145mm which is adjustable to 165mm and 175mm. It features a 65.8 degree head angle and tapered steerer. Made from aluminum and with Enduro bearings, it weighs under 4kg and retails at 2000 Euro.

The Herb FR shares the weight and pricing as well as some features of the Herb AM. It has replaceable dropouts and adjustable travel but has a larger shock than the AM. Rear 12mm axle wheels can be used from the 135mm and 150mm dropout options. Both FR and AM mountain bikes also has rear adapters and front adapters that optimizes the chain line with the use of the movable front mech stub and spacers to fit 73mm or 83mm cranks.

Eurobike revealed Zipp‘s new rims for 2011, the 808. It features the Firecrest profile which first appeared on the 404 clincher. The Zipp 808 rims has wide walls and blunt inner rim wall. The airflow is kept close to the wheel and goes out on the wheel’s path for better airflow. It also has a wide tire bed so matching it with 23c tubular tires is easy. This results to better road impact and resistance.

The Zipp 808 rims has carbon clincher version with similar features as with its tubular counterpart. The weight for Zipp 808 tubular rims are 1519g. The carbon clincher weighs 1759g.
