2011 descendence frames 1 300x185   2011 Descendence Akuma, 3point5 FramesTim Felton of Australia brings to the market his latest mountain bike frames for 2011 by the brand Descendence. The two frames are Akuma and the Descendence 3point5.

The 2011 Akuma is 100% straight gauge Cro-moly tubing. it has anodized bolts and washers as well as replaceable Titanium dropouts. It weighs 9.5lbs without the shock. The fine detailing on this frame is amazing and best of all, Descendence accepts custom-made orders for riders who would like a lighter or heavier bike.

The Descendence 2011 3point5 weighs only 3.2 lbs. The frame was built for speed and weight to your advantage. it uses a triple butted steel and have strong sealed tubes in CNC machined aluminum. It has a 68 degree angle and an authentic steel encryption. Lastly, it has a seat tube with a unique gusset.

If your at Eurobike next week, the new 2011 Marin Rift Zone will be on display, but we have a early look here.

The Marin 2011 Rift Zone adds some changes to the frame. Instead of the curved top tube, it will now flow straight. Other changes are to the shock mounts, and the swingarm’s loses some weight. From the two pictures, colorways available are white/blue and white/green. More information coming soon.

Fox first released the Flux sometime back, and now will introduced a new helmet for XC riding, the Striker.

The Fox Striker helmet features 22 vents (just like the Flux), but uses a aggressive shell to guide wind to your head, and structural honeycomb vents are inserted to cool down.

At the back of the Fox Striker, you can see extra coverage, which they say protects better than other XC helmets on the market. Once again comparing to the Flux, the Striker is lighter (overall weight was not released).

The Fox Striker Helmet will retail for about $138 USD, in sizes XS/S, S/M, L/XL. Colors available will be Black/Charcoal, Black/White, Silver, Black, and White/Black/Red. Releasing between February – March 2011.

Named appropriately, the top model in the 2011 Diamondback dirt jumping department is signature, and we will fill you in on it here.

The 2011 Diamondback Signature frame is constructed of full chromoly, double butted top and down tube, and tapered chain stay. Also using full chromoly is the forks with CNC 1 1/8″ 1 piece steere, and 6mm dropouts.

A few additional highlights for the Diamondback 2011 Signature are a FSA Impact integrated headset, Tektro Caliper brake, 175mm tubular chromoly 3-piece cranks, Darin Read Signature Pivotal Plastic Seat, a 36h Alienation Skylarki front rim and Delinquent rear rim.

Available in a military green color, MSRP is $541 – $640.

Rolf Prima releases a new wheelset focusing on the commuter, they are called the P-Town. Using 16 spokes on the rear, and 14 spokes on the front, both have a combined weight of 1,640 grams.

Two Rolf Prima P-Town wheelset packages are available, one is your basic P-Town wheels ($699), and the other comes with a White Industries ENO hub ($749). The hub is a great addition for those taking a vintage road bike and converting it to a single speed or fixed gear.

Your choice in 120mm or 130mm, but the White Industries ENO Eccentric hub is only available in 130mm. With every purchase you will also receive rim tape and CNC’d frame bolts.

Another 2011 Cinelli offering that uses stainless steel, the XCR.

The 2011 Cinelli XCR Road Bike now uses a bottom bracket BSA, previous years the XCR had a BB30. Like said, the frame is made of stainless steel (triple thickness) and XCR pipes. Using the same carbon fiber forks, that weigh in at 360 grams, and the frames weight is 1,430 grams.

For a complete build, three group sets are available, Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo (shown). MSRP and release date has not been announced, but the Cinelli 2011 XCR will debut at EuroBike and InterBike.

Franco Bicycles introduces the Franco Balcom Road bike at $4799. Founders/cousins Julian Franco and Hector believes that the new model is unique and worth the investment. The entry-level frameset retails at $1999 while the entry-level bike is priced at $2999. The Franco Balcom Road frame is made with Toray T800 carbon material. It comes with a standard or integrated seatpost. Customers have the option to mix and match the parts and components of the bike. Customization can be made with the assistance of a pro mechanic.

The Franco Balcom Road weighs 14.1lbs. It has five sizes with two headtube options. The short headtube is called Race while the long headtube is named Endurance. It comes with ProLogo saddles with blue trims.
