I just purchased the 2011 venom am for my son. I will tell you right now
the bike came mail order and had a few blemishes, but looked good overall.
The brakes are ****. I have no idea why DB does not upgrade the brake packages on there upper end bikes? All in all i would rate this bike at 4 1/2 stars out of 5.
Purchased this bike for my 11 y/o grandson for Christmas. Bought from Performance LBS. Disappointed in their presale checklist. Rear wheel was not aligned right. Brakes grabbed on one side. Chain was too loose. The darned handlebars like one position only. He wanted them more vertical. I cranked down on the headset with everything I had, yet he would come back 15 minutes later and the bars were dropping on him??? Ended up setting them back to factory spec. He lives in a community where there is no available Performance shop to go to so I had to do all the fine tuning. He doesn’t like the hard plastic seat. The detangler brake system (ORYG) really looks like a mishmash of stuff that is a nightmare to adjust. He’s giving up his Haro Nyqyist X2 Backtrail for this new bike. He has thrashed the hell out of the Haro and it still has a lot of life left in it. I’m yet to be convinced the Venom will hold up under his beat down. Next chance I get, I’m going to stop in at Performance LBS and give them an earfull for their pissy presale setup. I’m tuning up brakes, chain, grips etc the Haro and selling it. Anyone interested check in with me. I live in the metro Atlanta area. Oh, this is that sort of funky gray color.
how much is the venom?
I got the purple venom am. I think it is a great bike with a tiny sprocket, a awesome form, the only bad thing is that its seat is made of plastic, but you can get a seat cover. I got it at performance bicycles in San Rafael in California. It rides very well, I would recommend it to any adult/kid ready for some nice BMX riding.
