BMC introduces the Impec for its 2011 line. Short for the word “Impeccable”, BMC hails this bike to be the first entirely machine made bike. BMC has a patented robotic loom which did the carbon tubing weaving at precision level. The frame is held by the Shell Node concept. They are compressed carbon composite injection-molded two-piece parts.
The 2011 BMC Impec weighs 6.8kg and comes in two fits, the Race and Performance. Each fit has five frame sizes and follows the same geometry. It also has two color schemes. For the Team model, it comes in red shell Nodes and natural carbon tubes. As for the Noble, it will have a satin carbon finish.
Pricing for the Impec starts at $7,999 with SRAM Red components and Easton EC90 wheels. The 2011 BMC Impec will be available in September.
