HTC Columbia’s Mark Cavendish wins Stage 18 of Tour de France, beating Julian Dean of Garmin-Transitions and Alessandro Petacchi of Lampre-Farnese Vini in a bunch sprint. Fourth place went to Robbie McEwen of Team Katusha and crossing the finish line at fifth was Oscar Freire of RaboBank.

Milwaukee Bicycle Co and Doug from Hardcourt Bike Polo came together for a new Bike Polo influenced fork.
Doug explains the Milwaukee Bicycle Co Polo Fork: “I was thinking about the convenience of having one spare wheel to replace the front or rear, especially in tournament situations. A 120mm spaced fork made specifically for polo would mean more interchangeability, less spare parts, more gearing options for us single speed and fixed riders. And it would mean that any bike with this fork would breathe polo.”
Featuring 4130 heat treated chromoly, 990 Brake Mounts with Removable Studs, Headset Compression Plug, 400mm Axle to Crown, 6mm Dropouts, and weighs 1260 grams. Available in your choice of color with the exception of pearl coats and metal flake. More pictures and specs below.

Have you ever been out and about and all of a sudden you get a flat? To make matters worse, all bike stores are closed, and your far away from home. So what do you do? You hope your in range of the 24 Hour Bike Shop, a vending machine that will get you back on the road.
The 24 Hour Bike Shop vending machines accept credit cards, so if your not carrying any cash, they have you covered. As of writing, vending machines are located in California, Colorado, Nevada, Texas, Vermont, Washington
and Maine.
In one of the bike boxes, you will receive tubes, patch kits, CO2, energy supplements, but you can order custom boxes as well. This is really cool, but in order for this to work successfully, they will need to add vending machines in more locations (Sacramento and Davis especially).

Vaude initial release of cycling shoes was a success, and now they are furthering the collection with the new Placid RC mountain bike shoes.
The first launch from Vaude on a mountain bike shoe was in the Spring of 2009, and Peter Sontheimer department manager of Vaude Bikes said “Our initiation into the highly competitive bike shoe market was successful and we are happy to report that all seven models found their place on the market. This has motivated us to continue developing the collection.” Fast forward, Vaude is ready to release the new Placid RC.

The Leader Spartan Stem uses a 25.4 clamp diameter (fits nicely with the Leader Trick Star Cross Bars), short reach and small rise for those needing a stem to handle bar spins. Colnago shares some images of its new C59 road bike for 2011 with a debut on the Giro d’Italia’s first stage from Amsterdam to Utrecht. It was used by Colnago-CSF Inox cyclist Sacha Modolo. For the 2010 Tour de France, Team Bbox Bouyges Telecom are riding on them.
The C59 has a frame which is made with reinforced tube shapes. This was to make sure that it stays sturdy and rigid even under harsh conditions. It also has a reinforced fork with oversized chainstays. Colnago gives it a rectangular profile to minimize lateral flex.
Internal cable routing is applied on the C59. The cables escape from under the bottom bracket and on towards the front and rear derailleurs. Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 can be added on the flattened area of the bottom bracket.
The C59 frame, fork and headset retails for £3,299.95, and releasing later this year with the rest of…
To commemorate Tour de France’s first stop at the Col du Tourmalet, Rapha comes out with the limited edition Tourmalet Jersey.
It was 100 years ago, on July 21, 1910 when Stage 10 of the Tour arrived at the highest mountain in the Pyrenees. Alphonse Steines (Tour founder Henri Desgrange’s assistant) first checked the mountain for the Tour and after overcoming snow and getting lost, he sent a telegram to Desgrange, saying it was “Perfectly Acceptable”. This line soon became associated with the Tourmalet.
The Tourmalet Jersey has a Tourmalet logo on the chest and below it was the immortalized line Steine wrote, “Parfaitement Passable”. On the left arm of the jersey is a replica of Steine’s signature.
It has three large cargo pockets and a zipped pocket for your valuables. Made from merino-rich material, it has a slim fit design and a longer cut on the front so…
