Recently out of the market, The Aliante (143mm wide), the Arione (132mm wide) and the Anatres (143mm wide).

Their best seller is the Aliante saddle. It is wider and with a slight ergonomic dip as to its length. Selle Italia and Selle San Marco introduced their new carbon railed and shelled versions, however the move appeared to be a response to a marketing strategy. Aliante maintains its comfortable design of durability. The Fizik Aliante Carbon is 199 grams of a wider and softer saddle. The exterior shell is 35 grams of multi-directional carbon fiber and around 15 grams bi-directional carbon/Kevlar weave interior “hammock”. Just be sure not to fall asleep while riding.

SRP is €175-€299, depending on the rails chosen (K:ium or Carbon Braided).

Used recently by Alberto Contador at the prologue and final time trial on the 97th Tour de France, the new pedal system proved to stay true to its name as an aerodynamic advantage on the road.

The prototype pedal system will have the same look and mechanisms that drive the current Keo Blade but features a different design specified to have aerodynamic performance due to a smoother lower area on the pedal. The Look Keo Blade Aero weighs 200 grams, making it slightly heavier than the current 195g Keo Blade. The increase was due to its new shape and material used. Because of this new overall structure of the Keo Blade Aero, Look claims that vertical plane stiffness in the pedal system has improved.

Larger than the 26”, it features an ultra high count cotton casing with 290 tpi. It also has the SAGUARO tread pattern. Measuring at 2.0”, the Saguaro tire has its casing with a latex tube sewn inside. This allows a fully air-tight system.

The tires are 99% handmade although the tread pattern isn’t. The tubulars are hand sewn and each tire takes 8 hours of careful handiwork. As per GEAX’s product manager S. The V3R is made from carbon fiber and kevlar and almost look similar to a motorcycle helmet. It has 10 intake vents and 4 exhaust ports for superior ventilation. It’s CPSC and ASTM approved and has adjustable options for the vents.

The V3R also uses the Coolmax liner and pads which is removable and washable. The mouthpiece can also be easily detached for cleaning.
