Genesis 2011 Bikes
Genesis showcases its 2011 collection of road bikes which features the usual steel and branding except for some few tweaks. Here’s what’s coming soon in 2011.
Alfine-equipped Day One is in its final stage on the drawing boards and is designed with a hub-geared, drop-barred cyclocross iron and a Reynolds 520 frame. It uses the Versa 8 speed integrated lever shifting for its hub and for its stopping power, the Tektro Lyra mechanical disc brakes. Its longer rack mount braze-ons give more clearance on the disc. It has a price tag of £1000.
The Vapour CX bike in matt olive finish with gloss decals is obviously attractive. It has a Tiagra drivertrain with 2300 non-series chainset and a Tektro cantis coupled with secondary levers. Its cable stop is on the fork crown not hanging by the spacer stack which results to less prone to wobble braking. It has a retail price of £899.
The Equilibrium has two models; the red with full 105 running gear and chainset of Shimano, Shimano RS10 wheels and upgraded finishing kit and the Equilibrium with a Tiagra/Sora combination. The frame is a Reynolds 725 heat treated and much thinner.
The Flyer has a total facelift with the same Reynolds 520 steel frame with a good value finishing kit and Alex-rimmed, large flange wheels. It is a single speed bike with a flip-flop hub at the back and standard brakes. This one’s got a tag price of £649. Allying with All City Creative, Genesis comes up with a flat-barred black and white version of the Flyer. It has semi-deep rims and clips plus straps and retro saddle. Its retail price is £749.
Releasing again from Genesis bikes is the Aether 20 which basically remain unchanged except for the primer grey frame, a triple butted ALX-9 aluminum frame of a Sora/Tiagra mix. In addition, there is the Aether 30 with a full 105 group set in gloss pure silver finish.

I went to buy a Genisis Aether 10 2010 but was told they no longer had any in stock but to call back in two weeks for the Aether 10 2011. Is there any difference between the two or should I go for something different? I have a £650 Cycle2Work scheme voucher.
