The 2011 Look 695 race road bike is what the Cofidis team is riding on at the Tour de France. The new road bike offers its monocoque frame in the 695 SR (Super Rigid) and the 695. The first model puts stiffness above comfort while the latter model frame is 15% compliant.
Look used the Continuous Fiber Design to make the bike more efficient for you. The downtube, chainstays and seat tube are wrapped around the oversized bottom bracket casing with 65mm cartridge sealed bearings. The frame now weighs 900g, approximately 9% lighter than the 595.
The 695 can be equipped by all pedal systems but it already comes with Look’s Keo Blade pedals. It can also be spec’d with Zed 2 crankset’s crankarms, axis and star which are fused into one carbon piece. The crank length is also adjustable to 170, 172.5 or 175mm. the 695 can also be paired with the HSC 7 carbon fork which has an oversized 1.5 inch lower bearing.
The Look 695 has the E-Post Integrated seatpost system with frame insulators called elastomers. There is a 3cm vertical adjustment on the seatmast and you can use a carbon ring to adjust the Head Fit 3 on the fork pivot.
The C-Stem carbon stem was modified to allow an angle from -9 to -13 degrees. To have an allowance of 1cm on adjustments, there is an insert shaped like the moon which can be inserted at the front or back of the handlebar.
The 2011 Look 695 retails at $5,500 which includes the frame, fork, crankset/BB, stem, headset, seat post and pedals. It will be available in September together with complete bikes that has SRAM Red or Force, or Shimano Dura-Ace or Di2 build kits.
