Colnago shares some images of its new C59 road bike for 2011 with a debut on the Giro d’Italia’s first stage from Amsterdam to Utrecht. It was used by Colnago-CSF Inox cyclist Sacha Modolo. For the 2010 Tour de France, Team Bbox Bouyges Telecom are riding on them.
The C59 has a frame which is made with reinforced tube shapes. This was to make sure that it stays sturdy and rigid even under harsh conditions. It also has a reinforced fork with oversized chainstays. Colnago gives it a rectangular profile to minimize lateral flex.
Internal cable routing is applied on the C59. The cables escape from under the bottom bracket and on towards the front and rear derailleurs. Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 can be added on the flattened area of the bottom bracket.
The C59 frame, fork and headset retails for £3,299.95, and releasing later this year with the rest of the 2011 Colnago lineup.
