Ray’s Indoor Mountain Bike Park opens its second location in Milwaukee. Following the success of the first indoor mountain bike park in Cleveland, Ohio, the second indoor MTB park will be where the Menards Home Improvement center once stood. The 110,000 square foot area is now being remodeled to make way for the venue that will accommodate mountain bikers of all ages. Scheduled to open on November 2010, the indoor park will server cyclists an alternative place to get some saddle time in, especially in bad weather conditions.
The new park in Milwaukee was supposed to launched earlier but some financing concerns placed the plans on hold until Trek Bicycle came to the rescue and bought the business. Now, plans for the second indoor mountain bike park are back on track.
Namesake and founder, Ray Petro explains how it all happened: “Without Trek, Ray’s Milwaukee could not have happened. I’m very grateful for [Trek’s] involvement and excited about the work that’s already going on at our second park…The most exciting thing for me about this partnership is that I can now focus all of my time and energy on the design and creative direction of the parks.”
Vice President of Product Development and Marketing for Trek, Joe Vadeboncoeur adds, “Bringing Ray’s to the Midwest has been a dream I have participated in with Ray for some time… With Milwaukee, Ray will be able to implement the things he has learned over the past five years and have them in place from day one.”
