The registration for Kokanee Crankworx 2010 is now open. This is Whistler’s largest summer festival and will be on August 7 to 15. With a cash prize of $80,000 for professionals and $50,000 in prizes for amateurs, the nine-day event will surely be swarmed by the best mountain bikers and amateurs from around the globe.
Kokanee Crankworx general manager Jeremy Roche gives a preview on the event. “Kokanee Crankworx gives amateurs of all ages the opportunity to rub shoulders with the best riders in the world. There are very few other events out there offering the chance to participate side-by-side with World Cup title holders.”
Due to last year’s staggering entries, many disciplines sold out early. You can register at Crankworx.com. Some of the events open for athletes are The Dual Slalom, Monster Energy Garbanzo Downhill, Canadian Open Enduro, Air Downhill, Giant Slalom and the Canadian Open Downhill.
As for the VW Trick Showdown or the Monster Energy Slopestyle, they will be open only to top pro athletes. This will be through invitation only.
