The Mid-Atlantic Regional Road Development Camp is opening on June 14-19, 2010 as aired by USA Cycling. It kicks off on Monday and ends on Saturday. The Camp will accommodate Junior (14-18 yr old ) and Espoir (19-22 yr old ) category athletes. De Sales University in Central Valley, Pennsylvania is hosting the event.
The camp is providing a complete regimen of skills development and educational sessions, racing events and group rides courtesy of certified professional instructors from USA Cycling. Skills training, endurance rides, track cycling, field testing and crit/track racings are inclusive in the program. Talent discovery and potential riders for two upcoming stage races for multiple Junior category is also one of the agenda for this camp.
The riding opportunities at stake are; The Tour of the Red River Gorge, a Junior UCI stage race in Lexington, Kentucky on July 12-16, 2010. The camp will be sending a contingent of six riders to the event and the other stage race is the Tour de L’ Abitibi, Junior UCI “Nations Cup” to commence on July 19-25, 2010 in Val-d-Or, Canada to which two riders from the camp will augment the Regional Camp Composite Team. It is an exciting trip to the Great White North and the unknown areas.
The regional road camp will provide identified talents for the Junior National Camp in Colorado Springs every October of the year. It is just one of the many USA Cycling National camp’s outlets where pool of talents are being hand picked for the National camp.
The camp cost is at $750.00 a week for board and lodging to include tuition fees. A discount for of $50.00 each for 3 or more “teammates” is being offered.
