The US Cup Triple Crown at Chalk Creek, Colorado was won by Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski and Georgia Gould. This stop was part of the Mountain States Cup series as well.
On Saturday at Nathrop, Colorado, Horgan-Kobelski of Subaru-Gary Fisher won the pro short track division while Gould of Luna Pro Team won the Super D race. Come Sunday, both won the cross-country races.
Horgan-Kobelski was victorious over Jay Henry of Tokyo Joe’s and Sid Taberlay of ShoAir-Specialized.
At the XC, Gould bested Kelli Emmett of Giant and Katie Compton of Planet Bike. Compton hoped to win her first mountain bike race but it was not meant to be. She will be competing next in Offenburg, Germany on May 22-23 for the World Cup round three.
The next stop for the US Cup Triple Crown will be on June 19-20 at Massanutten Resort, Virginia. To be crowned overall series champion, the rider’s best out of three events will be calculated.
