Paula Findlay of Canada and Joao Silva of Portugal won their first World Cup title at the 2010 Monterrey ITU World Cup. Findlay and Silva started in similar fashion, making good time by taking the lead on the run.

The Dutch one-day classic race for the first time on Sunday was captured by Philippe Gilbert of Belgium after negotiating an extreme approach on the 31st and final ascend of the Amstel Gold Race. Coping up well in the lead, Gilbert in the heart-stopping final stages of the 257.8 km race synchronized and executed his rhythmic drive to an unparalleled level at less than 500 metres from the famous Cauberg Climb to the finish line.
The Belgian rider felt really strong today airing it public in Belgian television. Gilbert further stated, “I had good help from my team over the first 200 kilometers. When the race opened up with 40 kilometers to go, I was just following the leaders.”

In Monterrey, Mexico, the ITU Triathlon American Youth Olympic Games Qualifier is well under way. Adriana Barraza and Kevin McDowell outshone the other triathletes on a sunny afternoon after a week of rain for the 2,000 person age-group race kicking off on Saturday.
The 2010 Youth Olympic Games opens in August this year in Singapore and the event is giving the participating youth the opportunity to obtain one of eight qualifying places for their country. The top finishers for their respective countries in the men and women’s category races are awarded a spot for their National Federation in the said games.
