In Trento on April 12, the 2010 Giro del Trentino will be launched by its organizers. The twenty teams who will be competing for the event will be announced on April 20 to 23.
The second stage of the Giro del Trentino will take place in San Martino di Castrozza. Located in Northeastern Italy, the quaint town is doing what it can to make the race a memorable event come April 21.
The previous year, the paved streets of San Martino di Castrozza were filled with hundreds of spectators for the Giro d’Italia. This year, it is honored to host the Queen’s stage of the race.
The second stage will be 172.5km which will begin at Dro (123m), North Lake Garda. 50.8km in the stage, the first climb of the day will be the Vigolo Vattaro. Afterwards, the route will lead the cyclists to Passo Forcella and the first categorized mountain of 1616m, the Passo del Brocon.
The race course will finish with the Passo di Gobbera as its last ascent. That final 13.7km might just be the deciding distance to determine the victor of this stage.
