KVC Panne Sportief, organizers of the Three Days of De Panne have come up with the list of the 21 participating teams for the three day road race. The event will take place from March 30th to April 2nd. The recurring event since 1977 shall feature nine pro tour teams, eleven professional continental teams and two continental teams.

As part of the UCI Europe Tour, all the teams hope to be as victorious as previous winners of the race. 2008 edition of the KBC Driedaagse van De Panne-Koksijde was Joost Posthuma of Team Rabobank and 2009 winner was Frederik Willems of Liquigas.

The Trofeo Alfredo Binda will begin on March 28 Sunday and marks the start of the Women’s World Cup 2010. This race is held every year at the Commune of Cittiglio, Varese since 1974.

Organized by Cycling Sport Promotion Mario Minervino, the attendance expected for this even totals to 150 athletes from 26 national and club teams. Those teams include the best pro teams from Slovenia, Ukraine, USA, Great Britain, The Netherlands, Italy, Australia and Russia.

The favored one among the athletes is Marianne Vos. Her impressive career includes being the 2004 junior world champion, 2006 world champion, gold points in the Beijing Olympics 2008 as well as on the track World 2008. She also got the gold for the World cyclo-cross in 2006, 2009 and 2010. The Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) is offering free classes on Confident City Cycling (CCC) and Learn to Ride (L2R) classes which charge a fee of $10. This is in line with their mission to promote safety in bicycling throughout the Washington area.

The classes are not exclusive to Washington residents. Anybody can join and learn about bicycle safety in daily activities like errands, commuting and for fun.

The CCC1 is a basic skills class that will run for two hours. It will cover topics on basic bicycling information and on-bike skills. The fist half of the class will be in a classroom setting and the other half will be application of what you’ve learned outside, on your bike. Everyone will be required to sign a liability waiver and are also required to bring his own bike, helmet and water.

A worldwide voluntary recall of the VENTUS Aerobar was released by its manufacturer 3T. It was found out that when the bar is used in humid, wet or salty weather conditions, the rubber hand grips becomes loose on its handholds and can possibly cause accidents.

3T will be sending a pair of redesigned replacement grips and adhesive to owners of any model Ventus aerobar free of charge. You can install this on your own or you visit a 3T dealer to do it for you. This service is also free.

You are qualified for the fix as long as you own a Ventus. The voluntary recall in the US is being managed together with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. Worldwide recall is being managed solely by 3T.

After its successful run in 2009, the Cotswold Spring Classic returns as scheduled on Easter Monday which will be on April 5. The sportive planned to have the event retain all its components the same as the previous year however, some changes will be made on the routes.

Some of the roads in the previous route are not ideal for the event due to the winter season. There will be additional climbs as well to keep everyone excited to test their skills.

The organizers explain their reason behind the route changes, “We pride ourselves on using minor roads for the Cotswold experience. However, many of these roads are in such poor condition that riding on them could be dangerous.”

Cameron Meyer of Australia did not disappoint, as he proved to everyone why he’s the reigning points world champion by conquering the 40-kilometer, 160-lap track at the Men’s Points Race. Bjarne Riis is still on the lookout for a replacement to Saxo Bank which has served as the main backer of his cycling team. However, team director Trey Greenwood has revealed that a new Danish company has expressed interest in taking over the reins as team sponsor.

Which should be good news for Riis, since a previous meeting with another potential Danish sponsor did not go as well as he had hoped. As for the current team sponosr, Saxo Bank was expected to continue until the end of the 2011 season, at least, but had opted to leave the team early, which left Riis with no other choice but to let several of his riders go.
