Team Milram captain Linus Gerdemann and teammate Johannes Fröhlinger has been removed from the injured list and will be back in action in time for the upcoming 2010 Milan-San Remo race this Saturday.

The two cyclists have been recovering from intestinal problems that have plagued them since the Tirreno-Adriatico stage race in Italy, where they had to be taken out and replaced by two other teammates. Now they are back on the saddle and will be joined by teammates Christian Knees, Luke Roberts, Markus Fothen, Roy Sentjens, Niki Terpstra, and Paul Voss.

However, Team Milram will have to put two other riders on the sick list, as fellow team captain Gerald Ciolek has still yet to get back on the saddle from a shoulder operation, and Fabian Wegmann is out due to a broken collarbone. Ciolek is currently based in an altitude training camp and undergoing rehab with physiotherapist Christian…

Leif Hoste of Omega Pharma-Lotto will not be in the Nokere Koerse race due to his back pain. An incident in the Tirreno-Adriatico left the rider to be in continuous pain. Omega Pharma-Lotto will continue to ride with a seven-man squad.

The Belgian news agency, Belga, reports that Hoste will postpone his attending the Dwars door Vlaanderen on March 24. It would seem that Hoste was feeling better but the pain came back and has continued to be a burden for the cyclist.

Hendrik Redant, Omega Phram directeur sportif, feels that Hoste should not push himself to race immediately. He also stressed that they have no choice but to go ahead and compete with only seven men because it was also already too late to get someone to sub for Hoste.

Graeme Brown of Rabobank will be coming back to Nokere Koerse to defend his title and further hope to make two…

After his victory at Paris-Nice, Alberto Contador reschedules his calendar for the next two months. He believes it would be good sense to take it easy during the earlier part of the season.

“I’ve had very good results in my first two races this year,” Contador commented. “My preparation is well underway – ahead of schedule, in fact – so we decided to change our plans, to put less wear on me and my team.”

Contador found the Paris-Nice race stressful on both mental and physical levels. This led to his decision not to join at the Volta a Catalunya on March 2-28 and the Vuelta al País Vasco on April 5-10.

However, Contador will definitely ride in the Criterium International because he feels the race suits his form and personality. He will also race at the Vuelta a Castilla y León on April 14-18, the Fleche Wallonne on April 21…
