Excited to bring honor to RadioShack at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne, Fumuyuki Beppu gets his chance this 2010 season.
After finishing up negotiations last January with Skil-Shimano, Beppu finally got the clearance he needed and is back with RadioShack. The delay may have made him miss other races but the Japanese rider is enthusiastic and hopes to have another shot at Omloop on Saturday and at Kume on Sunday.
Pleased to be part of the newest US ProTour Team, Beppu recalls his training, “The training camp in Calpe this month was great…I like the spring Classics, they’re tough races, but I’ve come from a mountain bike background which does help.”
Together with Sebastien Rosseler and Gert Steegmans, Beppu is a strong contender for the races this weekend. He is also ready to support his teammates after his rigid training on the Classics circuit.
After making his debut in the Tour de France, Beppu is looking forward in participating with the stage races. Although the possibility of racing in Flanders and Roubaix may seem cloudy for now, he knows that his strength as an aggressive rider on a race’s final leg, will not go unnoticed.
Beppu is one of the only two Japanese who has finished the Tour de France. He is looking forward to higher challenges in the future. His greatest goal is to win the Tour de France.
