2010 San Dimas Stage Race Preview

Over 800 top notch professional and amateur cyclists will compete on Southern California for the 2010 San Dimas Stage Race scheduled March 19-21, 2010 which will be hosted by SC Velo, a local bike club.
The race is composed of three stages which includes a Kids Race on its last day. The San Dimas Stage Race is an important event in preparation for the Redlands Classic and the USA Cycling National Race Calendar.
Stage 1 sponsored by Glendora Chevrolet follows a 3.8 mile course going up Glendora Mountain Road (GMR) consisting of individual time trials. The first rider will start at 9:00 A.M. and the last rider in the late afternoon.
Stage 2 sponsored by San Dimas Hospital will be done around Bonelli Park in a 7.5 mile circuit course. For the Pro & Elite Men category, the riders will be making a number of loops around the course with a racing distance of 84 miles and 56 miles for the Women’s Elite category. The first set of riders will begin racing at 7:55 A.M. and the last ones at 1:15 P.M.
Stage 3 sponsored by Incycle bike stores and Cannondale bikes takes off to Old Town San Dimas streets. The race consists of a 1.2 mile course and the first group will start at 8:45 A.M. and the last riders starting at 3:00 P.M.
Men’s Pro/Elite: 90 Minutes
Women’s Pro/Elite: 55 minutes
The Kids Races sponsored by Shimano, is open to all children and will be held on the last day of the event at 12:30 P.M. in downtown San Dimas. All participants are required to wear a helmet.
