British team Sky has called for a press conference to take place tomorrow, and they are expected to announce that Bradley Wiggins has joined the 2010 squad. The 29-year-old finished fourth in this year’s Tour de France, and may be stepping up as Tour team leader for Sky. After racing for Garmin-Slipstream for a year, Wiggins has announced that he may leave. In September, he told BBC: “It’s like trying to win the Champions League – you need to be at Manchester United, but I’m playing at Wigan at the moment so I have to make that step up.” The signing is set to go down early tomorrow morning, and if all goes as expected, Wiggins will steer the team towards the 2010 Tour de France. Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong has revealed at an afternoon press conference at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona, that team RadioShack will not be based around his own individual goals. “I’m 38, going to be 39 this racing season, so it would be irresponsible to build the team around me,” Armstrong said. “We have to go in with a team approach. And at the Tour we have to look at Levi, and we have to look at Kloden, we have to look at the entire team and the tactics and the ideas that we use.” Team manager Johan Bruyneel was asked afterwards to expand on what Lance said, and his reply was “Lance is definitely the leader of the team. But we also have to be realistic. The favorite of the Tour is not on our team. To beat that favorite, we will…
