British team Sky has called for a press conference to take place tomorrow, and they are expected to announce that Bradley Wiggins has joined the 2010 squad. The 29-year-old finished fourth in this year’s Tour de France, and may be stepping up as Tour team leader for Sky. After racing for Garmin-Slipstream for a year, Wiggins has announced that he may leave. In September, he told BBC: “It’s like trying to win the Champions League – you need to be at Manchester United, but I’m playing at Wigan at the moment so I have to make that step up.” The signing is set to go down early tomorrow morning, and if all goes as expected, Wiggins will steer the team towards the 2010 Tour de France.
