Basque team Euskaltel-Euskadi has followed suit with team Saxo Bank, releasing a shortlist for their 2010 Tour de France lineup. The team captain, Samuel Sánchez, will be joined by Egoi Martinez, Rubén Pérez, Gorka Verdugo, and Amets Txurruka at the Tour in July. The same group all rode together at the 2008 Tour de France, where Sánchez finished seventh overall. Iñaki Isasi, Juanjo Oroz, Alan Pérez, Aitor Hernandez and Iban Velasco will be competing for the remaining four spots on the team. U23 world champion Romain Sicard was named as a reserve, as were Koldo Fernandez de Larrea and Benat Intxausti. Euskaltel-Euskadi has also announced that they will miss the Giro d’Italia for the second year in a row….

American Rahsaan Bahati has recently formed his own team, the Bahati Foundation, which is getting really serious about the 2010 season. They have announced Cannondale as their official bike sponsor, and a television show about the new team with partners

Endure Media Group is in the works for next fall. The Bahati Foundation will start the 2010 season with the Redlands Classic in California, which starts on March 25th, after their two-week training camp in Los Angeles. Bahati created the team to show children in low-income communities that there are other ways out besides crime, using himself as an example. The six-part TV series will cover Bahati’s childhood in Compton, California, and will go on to document his success in cycling….

Team Milram is now enjoying an escape from the cold European weather at their training camp in Mallorca, Spain. “We called together our complete new squad to prepare ourselves together for the important work in the coming season,” said Gerry van Gerwen, team manager. The team consists of 24 riders, with 16 of them being Germans. Their training days began with thirty minutes of walking along the beach, after which comes stabilization training with Milram’s physiotherapists. They would eat breakfast and then ride in the Mallorcan sun for six hours. They split up into groups which target training for specific events like the Tour Down Under or spring classics. Spanish pro Moisés Dueñas has been cleared to race once again after being banned for doping. The Spaniard tested positive for the banned blood-booster EPO halfway through the 2008 Tour de France while riding with Barloworld. He was given a two-year ban, which was eventually reduced due to Dueñas’ cooperation with the Spanish Cycling Federation. He is hoping to find a team to ride with in 2010, but he admits that it may not be possible. “I’m hoping to find a team, but I know it’s the end of the year and the teams are practically closed,” he told Spanish wire service EFE.

Spanish cyclist Gustavo César Veloso suffered a broken collarbone yesterday resulting from a fall during a pre-season mountain bike ride. The Xacobeo Galicia rider will have surgery in Lugo, Spain, and will begin rehabilitation soon therefter. Veloso, who won stage nine of this year’s Vuelta a España, was riding his mountain bike for recovery after a cyclo-cross event when he crashed. “I had planned a ‘soft’ session today, since yesterday I had trained in the morning and in the evening I attended the cyclocross race. I was out with a cyclist. We were quiet. I put the wheel in a creek and was thrown over the handlebars,” Veloso says. “I tend to be very cautious, but I couldn’t help it. I think if I had gone a bit quicker the wheel would have come out of the doldrums, but as it slowly froze ,” he…
