Despite rumors of retirement, Oscar Freire is sticking around for the 2010 season. The three-time world champion will be back with Rabobank, and is going to start the Ruta del Sol in February in Spain. Freire does not seem to be hindered by the fact that he was shot by an air rifle during stage 13 of the 2009 Tour de France. Freire will be starting in the number one spot for the five-day Spanish race. He has won the Ruta del Sol in 2007, and has raced in it eight times. Look for Oscar Freire to return February 21st through 25th in Spain.
