Utah’s town of Draper City voted on Tuesday in favor of opening up a velodrome in the city, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. The city council of Draper has passed a resolution supporting a velodrome to be located at Lynn Ballard Ballpark. However, the vote was “non-binding”, meaning that nothing is set in stone. It does, however, open up doors for talks about funding and conceptual planning for a velodrome. Draper City Councilman Jeff Stenquist has told the Salt Lake Tribune that a velodrome would indeed fit into the community, and even provide a means of economic development by possibly hosting competitions.
