Leader fixed gear department has recently announced their newest frame, the V1.5 729TRK. The Leader V1.5 729TRK 2010 Frame features a upgrade on the head tube gusset, wider stays to accommodate a larger tire, 10mm longer dropouts, and chain tensioners are improved so you can adjust much easier. Newest color to release is the flat black powdercoat. Retail price is to be announced, while you can purchase online or other Leader retailers.

Since 2006, e*thirteen has released a new limited edition chain retention in a different color, and this year is known as red rocket. Released around the world to select e*thirteen retailers (see list below), but you must note that once the retailer sells out, you will have to find yours either on eBay or another source. The e*thirteen Limited Red Rocket Chain Retention will release in the SRS+ and SS+ models, using the patent pending impact flexure bashguard. Pantani frames, made in Italy, are now available in the UK. They are designed by Davide Boifava, a former pro cyclist and also joint founder of the Carrera Podium Bike Company. The Pantani frames are available in either Skin (aluminum) or Corsair (carbon) in black/yellow, black/blue, and black/red. They feature Marco Pantani’s signature of the top tube. The carbon frame is made using “Solid Carbon” technology, which uses high pressure to make the carbon fiber more sturdy. The other is made with 7005 series T6 aluminum.

Today, the UCI ProTour commission has approved Astana’s registration. This means that they will have a ProTour license for 2010, and that they will be able to retain the two-time Tour de France winner Alberto Contador. The team almost went under due to late payments this season. The UCI also demanded that they get a bank guarantee of the finances. “Looking forward to the 2010 season, the UCI requested the Kazakh team to provide an additional bank guarantee so that the regrettable situation in 2009 would not be repeated and so that the request for the withdrawal of the Astana licence would not have to be reactivated,” says the communique. “This request is not connected in any way to the registration procedure for UCI ProTeams …but to the request for the withdrawal of the Astana licence that would have to be reactivated if the bank…

Oscar Pereiro, winner of the 2006 Tour de France, says that he will be racing with Astana in 2010. There is no official word yet, but he has told Radio Galega that “I’ve signed for one year. It’s going to be an important team.” Pereiro had a crash in 2008 that made his 2009 season rough, and he had to pull out of the Tour de France in the first week. Pereiro says that he considered an offer from QuickStep, but instead chose to go with Astana in hopes of riding with two-time Tour winner Alberto Contador.
