Two major North American cycling events will be be fund raising and creating awareness for injured and recovering soldiers. The two races are the Battenkill and the Sea Otter Classic. The Battenkill races, both pro and amateur, will be adding a “Ride2RecoveryCycleFest” as part of the event. The program is produced by the Fitness Challenge Foundation as well as the Military and VA Service Office, and its purpose is to benefit the rehabilitation, both mental and physical, for veterans. Check out ride2recovery.com for more information. The Sea Otter Classic, celebrating its 20th anniversary in April 2010, joined up with the Wounded Warrior Project and the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund to raise funds for wounded soldiers. Donations starting at $10 will be accepted during registration of the event or online at the Sea Otter merchandise store. Its good to know that there are people out there who care and recognize our troops!
