The Giro d’Italia, a race which is often decided in the slopes of the Dolemite, could be getting going off to a start in the United States in 2011. Angelo Zomegnan, the director of the Giro, was quoted in the Italian Sports Daily that the Giro d’Italia has caught the attention of American cities such as New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Zomegnan and officials have traveled to New York to negotiate with US officials. If the Giro does start in the US in 2011, it will be the first time a grand tour has started somewhere other than Europe. Stay tuned for more news on the 2011 Giro d’Italia.
