Local Sacramento comeback cyclist Chad Gerlach has been stirring up a great deal of attention in the media. Chad was doing very well after his five-year stint on the streets of Sacramento with drugs and alcohol. He cleaned up his act after appearing on A&E’s Intervention. He has been tearing it up on the cycling scene since his comeback, even finishing 5th behind his old rival Lance Armstrong at the Nevada City Classic. After the Lodi, California Criterium, Gerlach was nowhere to be found – unless you looked in the streets of Sacramento. After six weeks on the streets, Chad made a call and said that he was holding his newborn daughter, and that he was ready to go into treatment and continue his comeback. Christian Fanini, manager and president of Chad’s latest team, Amore Vita, has said that the doors will remain open if he wishes to come back for next season. We will all be crossing our fingers and hoping, let’s see another comeback Chad!
